To round out the year with celebration worthy wines, we are featuring Barbaresco. Often referred to as the more delicate expression of Langhe Nebbiolo, do not let that term dissuade you. These are age-worthy, collectable wines, that become more and more beautiful as time goes on.

While evidence of Nebbiolo dates to antiquity, and was written about by one of our favorite sources, Pliny the Elder, Barbaresco as a specific area emerged in 1894 with the founding of Cantina Sociale di Barbaresco. It's slightly more southern location allows for the tannins in younger wines to be slightly less than in Barolo - hence the delicate description.
